Year Four Music Skills Day- April 2019

Year Three and Four Trip to Botanical Gardens

Children enjoyed a great day at the Botanical Gardens. We got to explore the grounds and visit the different houses (such as Tropical House). Pupils looked at the different flowers and thought about why they needed different climates and what parts of the world they would be better suited to.

Pupils enjoyed seeing several different animals. We saw birds and reptiles and the children were super brave and even held snakes.

It was a great day. Children enjoyed the rainforest workshop, learning all about the layers of the rainforest and the animals and people that live there.

Year Four Science Day- Sound Feb 2019

Pupils enjoyed learning all about how sound is made. We looked at how sound is made from vibrations and investigated how loud and quiet sounds make different size vibrations. Pupils loved making string telephones.

Year Three - Cooking

Year Three - Cooking

Year Three enjoyed making a pasta salad today. Pupils got to practise different skills eg. chopping, boiling water to cook pasta, mixing and squeezing a lemon. Finally, we then enjoyed tasting what we had made.

Year Three Science Day - Rocks and Fossils

Year Three Science Day

Rocks and Fossils

Pupils worked hard today to learn about the different types of rocks. We really enjoyed our rock hunt outside discussing what was man made and what was natural. We then completed different experiments to test the durability and permeability of rocks in order to find out which would be the best to build with. Finally, we discussed how fossils were formed and even got a go at excavating a fossil.

Year Four Art Skills Day

Year Four enjoyed their art day. We studied the work of Georgia O'Keefe. We developed our skills in sketching and watercolour painting.

We had a great, creative day.

Viking Workshop

Pupils had a great time dressed up as Vikings for the day. They had the chance to experience what it was like to live in those days. They learnt all about how they lived, how they made things such as bread and got the chance to be part of a Viking army. Children had so much fun and loved learning new things!

Cooking Skills Day

Year Four enjoyed cooking. They had to be safe whilst cutting, frying and grating the ingredients. Children enjoyed making their own food and trying new foods such as spring onions and peppers.
