Year 5 & 6

Welcome to Year 5 & 6!

So far this year, Year 5 and 6 have been having a wonderful time learning about many new and exciting topics. Have a look at our pictures to see what we have been up to since September.

Year 5 and 6 enjoyed learning about Africa. We dressed up in traditional African costumes, researched interesting facts, learnt to speak in Swahili and tasted African foods.

We had a wonderful time during our Key Stage Two Science Day.

We made lava lamps, electric bubbles, balancing parrots and hoop gliders. We also made film canisters explode and had fun adding Mentos to Coke.

We also created miniature indoor lightning. Have a look at our photos and videos to see our investigations.

Year 6 had a wonderful time making their moving toys. We used saws to cut the dowel to size and used different shaped cams to make our toys move.

Year 6 worked very hard during SATs week, to celebrate, we had a lovely time with our friends and enjoyed cookies and doughnuts in the sun.

Well done Year 6. Ms Turner and Mrs Rogers are so proud of how much effort you all put in! smiley

Revising in the sun- May 2018

As the sun was shining so brightly, we decided to take our SATs Grammar revision outside. We had a great time practising our skills.

Egg Mobile Competition March 2018

Year 5 and 6 had a wonderful time seeing whose egg mobile would go the furthest in their 'Easter Egg Mobile Competition'. Winners were also chosen for best design.

The winners for the egg mobile which travelled the furthest were Kai (Year 6) and Reece (Year 5).

The winners for best designs were Lucy-Jo (Year 5) for her bat-mobile and Ewan and Finley (Year 6) for their Titanic design.

Ms Turner and Mr Thompson were very impressed with all the designs and pleased that the children and their families had gone to so much effort.
